How long do I have to wear my braces?

I just got them. I hate them. What was I thinking. I'm 39. Well now that I have them, what is the average time that people have to wear them?

i also have braces and i Hate them! The average time that braces have to be worn is about 2 years! But sometimes( if you get lucky )some people only have to wear them for 1 year

Depends on the type and severity of the malocclusion. Anywhere from 1 - 3 years, with 1 1/2 to 2 years being typical.

Just ask the orthodontist who put them in.

It really depends on how much work your teeth need done on them.

I don't know how long it is for someone of your age, but I'm 16 and I've had my braces for almost 2 years now, but my teeth were never that bad.

But, as you get older, your teeth grow stronger. So I'm thinking... maybe your teeth will take more time to move about because they're so used to being in the position they're been in.

But, like I said... it all depends the teeth.
