  1. For the first twelve weeks I was told.

  2. Hello my doctor told me to take them until I'm was 12 weeks that is when it is important to take them. Good luck x*x

  3. I think I took it for about 16 weeks and was then advised to stop.

  4. ive been told that you need to take it till the end of your twelve week of pregnancy.

  5. Folic acid is very important to take throughout your whole pregnancy, especially during the 1st trimester but don't stop taking it without your doctor's advise.

  6. you need to continue to take folic acid until your at least 3 months i took mine still 14 weeks , midwife say its best to take for 14 weeks. you can contunie to take it thro out. like them pregnancycare folic acid tablets best ones on market

    congrats

  7. I heard it's from as soon as you start trying to conceive, if possible, three months beforehand. So well done to you on that one!

Then, it's for the first three months, it is only supposed to help the neural development in the first trimester, so you wouldn't need to take it after that. Although you can always check with your doctor or midwife, just to be on the safe side!

  8. You stop taking folic acid once your 3 months pregnant, and take a pregnancy vitamin.

    Maj

Pregnancy vitamins do still contain a small amount of folic acid, this could be where the confusion lies

  9. You can take it any time all the time!  It is healthy for you.  Why would any reputable source tell you to stop taking something healthy??

Your best bet: continue taking a multi-vitamin that contains folic acid (even the regular ones do).  Unless you eat fruits and vegetables all the time, none of us get the vitamins and minerals we need throughout the day.  I take a multi-vitamin, calcium supplement (b/c we don't get enough calcium either), and Omega-3 pill (because I can't possibly eat fish every day here in the Midwest).

  10. I was told by my midwife to stop taking them-i was 14weeks at that stage. I found it quite hard to believe so I'm taking it until I finish the packet I have. It cant do any harm really can it?
