How long do I need to use ear antiseptic after a piercing?

I got my ears pierced in April and have been cleaning them with antiseptic one to two times a day. How much longer do I need to do this to be safe?

  1. I got mine pierced last year and cleaned them every morning and night for 6 weeks, and It worked really well.  You can defiently stop now! I hope this works for you!

When I got my ear pierced I was instructed to keep the earring in for six weeks and use rubbing alcohol or antiseptic for this entire period.   This will give time for the "wound" to heal and skin to repair itself.  Doctors also say the same thing. When the six weeks is up, you can change your pair of earrings!

       If your ear ever gets infected or irritated after the six weeks is up you can always still use rubbing alcohol to treat it.
