  1. my 5 month old knows her grandparents and she sees them about 3-4 times a week.  Thats the only example i can give but i believe there is a bond with family and baby will remember them  even if its just once a week.

  2. Our kids can only see my parents a few times a year because of how far away they live, so I like to keep a picture of them around, and talk about them, to our two year old especially, so he remembers them from one visit to the next.  It also helps get them excited about an upcoming visit.

  3. It depends on the age of the child..

A newborn to year old isn't gonna remember a person unless they see them on a daily bases.. The mother is identified because the baby knows its mothers voice..

As the baby ages memory is inprinted more.

The reason she remembers your mother is cause they share a family bond. She must reconize your mother as her grandmother
