I've had mine for two years now. I clean his bowl every two weeks or until it get dirty and give him four little beta pebbles of food a day. How long do you think he's got?

  1. From the looks of it, he's still has a few years. Maybe around 2-3 years. My very first beta was named Rainbow, he was purple and red. He was 5 when he died of old age. I had him for such a long time! Keep up the good work!

  2. about 3 years, so one more, but that is just an average

  3. yours seems to be well taken care of so i would say 3-4 years.

  4. Betta fish will usually live 2-3 years, given the best care in captivity. in the wild, Bettas can live much longer, any where from 4-7 years.   , you are doing a very good job of keeping your betta healthy and happy, and you are feeding him correctly for his age, almost.  because of his old age, try feeding him 2-3 pebbles twice a day, that should help him stay healthy.  i would guess, given he is in the proper care, he has about any where from very soon to another year or two.  enjoy your time together and have fun!  try giving him hiding places, bettas like those.  and remember, the better you treat him, the longer he will live.  it also depends on the tank size.  bettas in half gallon tanks won't live as long as bettas in 5 gallon tanks, so keep that in mind. and always remember to never try to put him with another fish at his age.  i hope you found this information useful, and I'd be happy to answer any other of your questions.

  5. They can live for 7 years but most only make it a few months because they are kept in poor conditions.  Ideally a betta lives in a 5 gallon heated filtered tank.  If you want to prolong your fishes life, upgrade it's tank or at least clean in more often to prevent ammonia build up.

  6. Bettas can live up to about 6 years if kept in good conditions.

Bettas are usually already a year old when you buy them from the pet store however.

Your betta will probably live around another year or so.

I suggest buying at least 2.5 gallons, though bigger is better (i keep mine in 5 gallons), a heater set to 78-80F, and a soft filter. He could live longer in and happier in such a set up.

He can be O.K in a bowl if your very careful.
