they live just about ten years. expect about ten years, but you can start worrying about them at nine years. they've also been know to live up to 15 years. i thought about getting one, but decided cockatiels are more interesting. if you haven't bought a bird yet then i would suggest a cockatiel. mine's just over a year old and he's really awesome! the only bad thing about him is that he's loud. really loud. and they grind their beaks when they're ready to go to sleep or take a nap which is about the same time i want to go to bed or take a nap. anyway, budgees don't do much. they fly around and look kinda cute, but cockatiels are just one step up, they're adorable, and more intelligent than budgees. if you need anymore info on budgees or cockatiels i have some printouts lying around you can email me. i don't know if i'm still on private email or not so here's the address: [e-mail] hope this helps!

With good care, they can live a good 10-15 years.

With people getting them as first birds, leaving them in small cages, never giving them toys, keeping only one straight non-varying sized perch, and feeding them only seeds their entire lives though, sadly many don't make it that long.
