  1. depends on how long you use the projector i would think & the quality of the bulb...nobody can really be accurate here.

  2. Normal is 2-3000 hrs of use, although a few claim up to 4000 hrs.

Cost to replace a bulb is in the $300 -$500 range but varies with the model.

Lifetime is approximate since life varies with treatment. For example all bulbs should be cooled down (via the internal fan) rather than simply turned off. Also rapid cycling on and off can severely shorten lamp life.

It is recommended to put a projector on a UPS to allow proper cool down in case of a power cut.

Finally, most lamps will last ~25% longer if used in "eco" or low power mode.

  3. The exact cooling down period determines the overall life of a projection bulb.  Normally it begins with shutting down the bulb, while leaving on the main cooling fan for "at least 20 minutes."  Thereafter, you can turn off the fan via the main power switch.  Following this procedure while using only the eco-mode (low light leve] greatly extends the life of projection bulbs.  And the normal operating cost per hour  for most projection bulbs is around $0.25 cents.

    Good luck!

  4. Each has a different rating, in the number of operating hours.

Some projectors have high and low power modes ( DLP video projectors) etc.  Depends: 1000Hrs to 4000Hrs.

    Someone else posted 10,000Hrs.

The most important thing to remember, is to shut down the projector lamp from the menu,  not by unplugging it.

The bulb will last longer if it heats up normally, and cools down with the internal cooling fan, before the plug is pulled.

The cooling fan is critical to bulb life.  If you just unplug it, or have a power failure, the bulb could fail.

What model projector do you have?

  5. normally they say on them, mine is rated for 10,000 hours
