i have planted cherry and apple seeds into pots with soil recently (about 2 months ago, they are starting to grow, the cherry tree has spiky leaves) and i was just wondering how long they normally take to grow properly and flower etc. In addition, These are just seeds taken from the fruit is this ok? I expect it would be a matter of years but was just wondering.

cheers

  1. Both take years to grow. Most 3 and 4 year old trees are about 4 feet tall, if that gives you an idea. The seeds you planted may never bear fruit or be edible since most fruit sold is from hybrid (not true to form) trees. Oranges are usually from a tree that has been grafted to a root stock and not grown from an actual seed.

  2. cherrys take up to 11years and you have 5%chance of edible fruite even less of tasty fruit and apples i dont know
