  1. had 1 years ago which the box said 10,000 hrs. & also said the bulb life is shortened by 2 hrs everytime its turned on. i also think they dont like high humidity areas like bathroom.

tried to call new bulb mfr. recently & couldnt get a straight answer like the old package stated.

  2. Depends on the size of the bulb.  But generally CFL lights will last 10 times longer than a standard incandescent bulb.  So in most cases that would be around 8,000 to 10,000 hours.   Plus they save energy and $ (in the long run).

    Take care,

  3. There is a very high infant mortality rate. I had about half fail in the first month. But the survivors have lasted over a year, some for 10 hours a day.

The bad ones I took back and got free replacements from home depot.

    .

  4. They last until they burn out.

  5. I don't know what their average lifespan *really* is, but I've installed many that don't last nearly as long as they claim on the box.

oooo...thumbs down. I guess my answer "sends the wrong message".

  6. CFL's last anywhere fro 6000 to 15000 hours, compared to incandescent bulbs that last anywhere from 750 to 1000 hours
