  1. People who work with very high vacuum systems handle everything with gloves so they do not leave finger prints on the things inside the vacuum chamber.  A finger print will outgas in a vacuum chamber for more than a day before everthing that will evaporate evaporates.  It will still leave behind salt and other contaminants.  As far as fingerprints for identifying the person who touched the surface, I am not sure how long they remain in a form that can be identified.  It will not be indefinetly because, over time, the oils will spread out, evaporate, react with air and with humidity.

    hope this helps.

  2. If there are two or more finger prints in the same spot it is unlikely that a single print can be obtained from the surface of the object.

A fingerprint can remain on any surface until it is removed.

  3. Depending on if there was anything on a person's fingers/thumbs, the finger prints may stay around for a certain amount of time depending on the substance. You also have to consider the climate around the object, if it changes, when it changes, or if the fingerprints have been wiped. Multiple variables are involved and must be taken into consideration to have the answer. It really just depends on any influential factors.

  4. They will stay until they are washed or wiped off.

  5. when there are two or more finger prints on the same object at the same place, the issue is complex - still all the finger prints will remain in the object for more than 24 hours and there are ways to isolate one to other - and facilities are available to do this.    I don't want to dwell on this subject much beyond this.
