  1. Dear Hamster Life Expectancy Inquirer,

Hamsters generally live, if taken care of in the best way, and properly, 2.5 to 3 years max. I have heard of a hamster living up to 4 years, but by the 4th year, the hamster was relatively crippled.

This is why I do not recommend this pet for smaller children than 9, because they will not fully understand why their pet dies on them.

That is why for 9 and under, I recommend a long living dog.

    Good luck,

  2. They live three years.  I wish they lived longer.  My hamster is also one and a half and I love her so much.  I will be heartbroken when she dies.

  3. Here are the lifespans of the different species of hamsters: Syrian Hamster: 1.5 - 2 years

    Djunjarian: 2 years

    Campbell's: 2 - 2.5 years

    Chinese: 4 - 5 years

    Roborovskii: 4 - 6 years

I don't know what yours is so here is all of them. :D

  4. 2-4 is average anything above is a miracle whats happened to me was they either got desperate to leave the cage and ended up dying or got wet tail (very deadly 4 hamsters) sometime youll get them sick from the store and theyll die like 1-2 weeks later.

  5. They live three years people that have surviving hamsters are  lucky. They are sold out of dwarf hamsters at the petstore so I might just get a robo hamster instead or should I get a syrian??

  6. Syrian hamsters can live upto 3 years and dwarf hamsters (winter whites, campbells, chinese, robos) can live from 1.5 - 2 years.

Exceptions to the case are always there. As per the Guiness Book of World Records, the oldest hamster on record lived for 7 years!

  7. 2-2.5 years is the average, but my first hamster, Hank, passed away just shy of his 5th birthday...so you never know!

    *And he wasn't crippled.
