How long do i need to run on a treadmill to lose 10 lbs in a month?

im starting highschool tomorrow, (first day, freshman)

and i want to lose some fat in my stomach, love handles,

and fat between my legs, (dont pervert it).

my mom got a treadmill and i want to use it everyday, but how long do i need to use it each day (running) to lose 10 lbs or more in a month.

including crunches, or bicycle crunches, etc.

i know i have to eat healthy and skip junk food and fried foods, but i just want to know how long i need to run on the treadmill everyday to lose 10 lbs in a month.

im 14, 5 '5 and weigh about 140lbs.

i know its a little heavy for my height and age, but dont say im fat because im a serious soccer player and have a LOT of muscle in my legs, and thighs. so that is alot of my weight, im just looking to lose fat in my stomache and inner legs.

help please!

  1. Well, 10 pounds is having to burn 35000 calories.  Spread out over a month, that's just under 1200 calories a day to burn.  If you wanted to lose that much, just by running, you have to consider speed and all, but here's a rough estimate of how many minutes per day you'd have to run.

    Running: 5 mph (12 min/mile)   134

    Running: 5.2 mph (11.5 min/mile) 119

    Running: 6 mph (10 min/mile) 107

    Running: 6.7 mph (9 min/mile) 97

    Running: 7.5 mph (8 min/mile) 86

    Running: 8.6 mph (7 min/mile) 74

    Running: 10 mph (6 min/mile) 65

    Basically to lose 10 pounds a month, you need to burn 1200 calories a day.  A normal female burns about 2000 calories a day with normal activity.  If you cut down to a diet of 1200-1600 calories a day, you'd have burned 400-800 calories just with normal activity, drastically decreasing the amount of running you'd have to do to reach your goal.  Don't rely on just the running, but it will definitely help you get there!

    PS keeping a food journal was really helpful when I was losing weight.  When you have to write down what you're eating, it's easier to not eat so much.

  5. start out slow run till your tired and just keep running that same time everyday start at 30Min's and hour f you can make it but you have to do it.  Like they say no pain no gain, you will lose he weight if you watch your diet to but don't starve either if you can see a dietitian go to them they will definitely help

  6. 30-45 minutes is fine.Don't go beyond 1 hour otherwise you will lose more muscle rather than fat.
