How long do it take to recieve my first payment from the gi bill?

i started school today. the va counselor at school verified my enrollment at the school last thursday so i can recieve my payments. i called the gi bill office and the lady told me that it will take 30 days. is that true or is it something they have to say just because? how longs do it take to recieve the first payment?

That is a prety standard answer but it is also fairly accurate. the average processing time is around twenty days but varies depending on the amount of paperwork at the regional office at that point in the year. I would try to access your WAVE account and check for pending documents. Dont forget to verify on the last day of the month!
