How long do moth balls last?

Question

We put some in our basement 5 boxes and then sealed it to get

rid of snakes!! The snake person that came told us to do that to get rid of the darn snakes...now the snakes are gone, but the smell is aweful. How long do these moth balls keep their smell?

the smell of mothballs spread by diffusion (check out the kinetic particle theory)

why dont you ventilate the place, leave windows/doors (if there are any) open so that the smell will hopefully go away.
