How long do pet hamsters live and is there a difference between male and female in how long they live ?

i am thinking about a hamster for a pet i was wondering how long they live i know its normally live 2-5 years but i want a specific. i know if the woman gives birth it takes a couple months off the life span other than that is there a difference in how long they live.

Syrians live between 2 and 2 a half years, regardless of the s*x. Dwarf breeds live slightly longer and can live up to 3 years. Of course you do get the odd hamster living longer, which is where your 5 years comes into it.

gender doesn't affect them.depending on the breed, however id say around two to three years.

No there average life span is 2 years no matter if it's male or female.

normally they live from 2-5 years but i don't think that if it gives birth that it will take any amount of lifespan from them.  One of my hamsters gave birth and she lived longer than some of her babies.

They live from 2-3 year on average. There is no difference between their gender.
