  1. I agree with everyone.  DO NOT bring the dog home yet. And YOU ABSOLUTELY need to get the dogs shots done well before bringing him home.

Remember to wash clothes, bedding, and disinfect your shoes, and the soles of shoes with Lysol.

  2. Parvo can live for a whole 6 MONTHS in the home and in the yard.

I highly recommend you do NOT bring this new puppy home for atleast another two months.

  3. 6 months.  don't bring the puppy home yet.

  4. yes get him imunissed before you bring him home it can live for years in the soil

  5. hehe its parvo. and if the other pup died, the disease is still in your home. ask your vet which "bleach" is best to use depending how yor yard is and your home is. they can help you out the best.

  6. well first of all it's parvo, not provo. i would just use bleach to clean areas, make sure there is NO p**p left behind from the other dog outside. please keep your pups shots up to date. that's the best way to keep him/her safe.

i agree with the answers below about not bringing the pup home. it takes about 3-4 rounds of shots before it can even be effective in the puppy. a little 8 week puppy doesn't have enough immunity to keep it safe from the parvo. don't take the chance.

  7. It's parvo and you need to disinfect everything including your backyard with a bleach solution or the new puppy will also get parvo.  The disease will live for 6 months.  The bleach has to be left on all surfaces for 20 minutes before being rinsed off.
