  1. ask them, every place is different. they may not even beable to show you because of security reasons.

  2. It depends.  Most stores don't even have actual "tapes" anymore....they have hard drives like your computer and they can hold a lot.  How much they hold and for how long depends on the size of the hard drive and the quality of the video.  Obviously, the better quality video takes up more space.  I would guess big stores like Macy's and Wal Mart invest a lot in their security images.  I've known even small mom & pop stores to have 200 gb hard drives that save 6 months or more of high quality video.  Any pertinant video can be saved onto a flash drive or disk and played for whoever wants to see it, but I would guess unless they are cooperative you may have to ask the police department to get involved and subpeona the video.  I doubt they'd hand it out just because you asked, but of course it doesn't hurt to explain the situation and ask.

  3. they keep em for a long *** time, 2 years???

  4. Every store has its own policy.  The few i've worked at saved thiers for 6 months.

  5. they must see something strange on the tape and if they dont they re use it

  6. nothing is done by tape anymore it is all stored on a hard drive and i think they keep them for 6 months

  7. Why dont you ask them ?

  8. why are u waiting a month later to persue charges? u sound very shady if i say so myself
