How long do snowboards last?

When do you know it's time to buy a new board?

If you've grown a lot or if you have a beginner/intermediate board and your skills have advanced a lot it's time.

Otherwise it's just a "hey I have a bunch of money to spend, let's do it up!" thing.

A snowboard should last almost indefinitely with proper care and maintainance.  It should be replaced

If it is damaged or worn beyond reasonable repair

If the board is the wrong size for you.

If it is the wrong type of board (freestyle vs. freeride)
