I was just wondering on average how long the boats on the "deadliest catch" stay at sea for before they head back to dutch and unload.

  1. from 3-8 days depending on the success and the catch rate and the season.  I've never watched a whole episode of the show, too much personal involvement, I helped build 3 of the vessels and have lost friend and relatives in the industry to accidents at sea. Hope the fleet does well.

  2. The King Crab season lasts just four days. The Opilio season is now not a "derby" event, so the vessels have an allotted quota which allows for a safer trip, allowing more time for rest.

The f/v Northwestern (my favourite vessel) has its own website at:

Sig, Edgar, Norman, Matt, Nick and Jake are in the process now of launching their own crab boat game (Deadliest Catch Alaskan Storm) on Xbox360 and PC.
