  1. It's variable, but I still have my 1984 Mitsubishi color TV and it's as good as ever.


  2. Depends on the year it was made, the model, other such things.

    But as a broad guesstimation.. 10, 20 years easily.

    But it could also easily be 3-5.  Really depends on the quality of the merchandise.

    If you buy a new tv, make sure you buy samsung.  Very low return rates.  Much lower than sony and panasonic.

  4. Most last 10 to 14 years and SOME actually get 15 to 20 years on them....

    93 % will be bad by year 14.....

I don't think I've ever had one last less than 10 except for the couple of casualties of a house lightning strike, although I'd think some of the cheaply-made ones might.  I know some that are still alive and doing just fine at 20+, although the oldest one (which is also a bit weird) needed a cable box to be able to handle more than 13 channels.
