  1. leave your heat mat on all the time and give them about 5-6 hours of heat/light from the heater lamp.

My corn snakes have been fine and have recently started to breed,I'm doing some thing right.

Make sure they have plenty of fluid

  2. leave the heat pad on all the time and leave the heat lamp on for about 12 hours a day.

  3. When you smell it cooking is about right.

    Sorry, I don't really know.

  4. SOunds like your cooking your snake to be honest and corn snakes don't need it that warm despite what people think.  I kept all 5 of mine ambient temps , no problems in shedding or regurgitation.  I live in the NE, a breeder who I got my snakes from who has been breeding for 30 years never used a heating pad, or light either.  He lives in NY.

  5. heater lamp probably all day and heat mat 12 hrs a day not really sure just makeing a guess

  6. I always leave the heat mat on for mine (unless its huge and covers the whole floor, I only do this if the mat covers a small section of the terrarium)

The heat lamp I turn it of at night, and I turn it on at 9am....unless it's a hot day I suggest on hot days you keep it off all day

Snakes are very sensitive to temperature changes

  7. snakes don't really need the light, and you shouldn't have it on at night. they only need it to be around 80-85 daytime, night can fall closer to70-75. they also need a cooler area in their tank in case they get to warm. i don't use lighting for mine i just have a heat mat on one side of the cage, i depending on the temp of my house i keep it on low to med. this depends on the cage size as well.
