How long do we have to keep employment applications?

Is there an amount of time that California businesses are required to keep employment applications after they are submitted by potential applicants who are not hired?

Most employers anywhere usually keep them for 30 or 60 days, just depending on the type of business..

I don't believe there is any set law, it's at the preference of the manager/owner
