  1. Grilling really would be best for this cut of steak. If you don't have access to a grill though:

Heat olive oil in a pan until nearly smoking. Sear the steak on both sides until very brown. Transfer to an oven proof pan, add your mushrooms, place a pat of butter on top of the meat and bake at 425 for about 10 minutes to finish. This would be for a steak at least an inch thick. If it's less than that, then searing in the pan is really all you'll need to do. While your steak is in the oven, add 2 tbls heavy cream, fresh cracked pepper and a little red wine to the pan you seared in. Reduce this down and you'll have a nice pan sauce.

  2. Temperature: 300 degrees

    Time: approximately 3 hours

    Happy cooking

  3. I agree with TX2step.  Never bake steak in the oven.  If you can't use a grill, consider broiling it.  Depending on how thick and how well done you want start with about 6-7 minutes per side.  Do your mushrooms in a pan on the stove.

  4. ACK!  Don't bake a T-bone steak!  You'll ruin it!  That's a terrible thing to do to a good steak!  T-bones have to be grilled, BBQ'd or pan fried!  Baking one will dry it out and leave it like old shoe leather!!!

  5. Sear it both sides for about 2 mins then bake it at 425  6 mins med / 8 mins well.

  6. It is best if you broil steak or fry it on the stove.

Make the mushroom sauce that you are going to dress it with on the stove, and broil the steak in the oven for about ten minutes on a low broil.

  7. Don't bake a t-bone steak!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  If you don't have access to a grill, at least broil it or even pan fry, but DO NOT BAKE IT!

  8. Cook it in a skillet on top of the stove on high so it will sear the juices in. Brown on each side then take out and let it rest. Then put your mushrooms in the skillet with the drippings and about a 1/2 to 1 cup of water and turn on medium heat and cook until done. Great to pour over mash potatoes or rice.

  9. STOP!  Do NOT cook a T-bone in the OVEN!!! ... Best if on the BBQ; but use the broiler or frying pan if you don't have a BBQ.  If you cook it in the oven, you'll be roasting it!  That might work for a thick London Broil, but NO steak should really be cooked in the oven!
