How long do you bleed after the baby is born?

I bled for about 3 weeks, but it was heavy only for the first 10 days or so. I have also read somewhere that breastfeeding helps the bleeding to stop earlier.

I guess it depends on the female.  I had 4 kids naturally and each time I bled for about 3 weeks.  Not a bad price to pay for such a wonderful blessing!!

Got my period 2 weeks after that, too.

I did about a month then it stopped, I got an IUD and bled on and off for another 2 months.

I've heard its anywhere from 2-6 weeks! I'm waiting to find out for myself since my little guy is due anyday. I have asked that question a lot to people I know who have had kids and most seem to say about 3 weeks. I heard breastfeeding helps make it stop quicker but I don't know if thats true.

I bled for 3 months....that is very rare though.

Im thinking it was because I went on depo, got one shot, then off it again..then I got the IUD

i had my baby a little over 5 weeks ago and i still have a little spotting...it's enough to where i still have to wear a pad all day...i can't wait until i don't have to wear these pads everyday! lol...

i had my newborn 5 weeks ago. i bled for 2 weeks and some spotting for a week afterwards.

betweenen   3  to 6  weeks  I do not remember  but its like a very heavy period at first  I have 3  children  the youngest now 19

I BLED FOR 5 WEEKS AND THE FIRST ONES ARE PRETTY HEAVY AND THANKFULLY AFTER THAT THE BLEEDING IS TONS LIGHTER AND TONS BETTER FOR YOUR PERIODS!

I bled for 3 weeks , like a very heavy period ( I usually only have light once)

with my first i only bled for 7 days, but with my second it was about 3 weeks, was starting to get worried as i didnt realise that long was normal.
