like say you were in AAA and got called up with thirty games left, would you still be a rookie, or would you be a rookie the next year..

cause its kinda not fair for you to be a rookie and win rookie of the year since you played fewer games compared to other rookies who played since the beginning of the year..

  1. It depends

  2. ur first year in AA, ur a AA rookie, then when u move up to AAA, for the rest of the year u r a AAA rookie, if u get sent down tho ur back 2 a AA rookie, if u ever get to the MLB for the rest of the year ur a MLB rookie unless u get sent back to down to AAA or AA

  3. If there are just 30 games left, then you would not qualify as a rookie until next season.

  4. You are a rookie when you play your first game.  You will be a rookie every year until you exceed any of the following in one season:

    130 at bats

    50 innings pitched

Spend more than 45 days on the active roster, excluding time on the disabled list, in military service, or time when the rosters are expanded (currently after September 1)

In other words it's possible to be a rookie 10 years in a row.

  5. You are a "rookie" until you complete your first Major League season...being called up in the middle of the year dosent count. You have to make the team out of Spring Traning to loose the title. Or you get the label "journeyman" which is usually a guy who gets passed around from team to team & sometimes from minors to pros. A guy who usually gets a call up & then gets sent back down & stays there for a while then gets a call up again, kinda gets a label of "the guy who had a cup of coffe with the ______" fill in the blank with whatever team it was! lol
