i just got Yasmin birth control, and is it true that it wont take effect for 3 months?

  1. It will start being effective as birth control after SEVEN DAYS. I'm not sure where you got the 3 month figure from.


  2. you need to have at LEAST one cycle in your body for your body to be fully used to it therefore its good to wait a couple months before risking anything

  3. Usually medicine takes 3-4 days to get into your system. Birth control is really no different except it takes about 1 month to become fully effective.

  4. It would take a full menstrual cycle for it to take effect, but the first 3 months of being on the pill will probably have a lower accuracy rate, but not by much at all.

  5. that is a question that should be answered by your health care professional. But Yes I think it is 3 Months. Did it not come with a flier  enclosed?
