How long do you have to be on the pill for it to take effect?

i just got Yasmin birth control, and is it true that it wont take effect for 3 months?

It will start being effective as birth control after SEVEN DAYS. I'm not sure where you got the 3 month figure from.

you need to have at LEAST one cycle in your body for your body to be fully used to it therefore its good to wait a couple months before risking anything

Usually medicine takes 3-4 days to get into your system. Birth control is really no different except it takes about 1 month to become fully effective.

It would take a full menstrual cycle for it to take effect, but the first 3 months of being on the pill will probably have a lower accuracy rate, but not by much at all.
