  1. As soon as you feel Paris like home! Who cares if it's a month or 20 years? If you love the place, you live there, you live your life like locals, you speak the langauge, you pay the city tax, and will always call Paris home, you're a Parisian.

I knew people born and raised in other states and called themselves proud Denverites after few months living in Denver!

  2. When you feel Paris is your "home" in the broad sense and love everything even the tedious aspects (strikes, demos, administrations, finding a taxi), In my case I had been there a few months and was a parisienne, long love story that is ongoing but now from a distance, I still refer to myself as a Parisian although living in Texas ( I also feel at home in Texas) and am French by the way

  3. It seems to me that if you live there and have a general intention of remaining there then you are free to call yourself a Parisian whenever you feel comfortable with saying so.

  4. I would say when you become fluent in French, understand the culture, and have been living there for over 5 years. That is when i would call myself a Parisian

  5. Just calling yourself a Parisian doesn't make you one. Just like calling yourself a brain surgeon doesn't make you a brain surgeon.
