  1. You need to contact the county health department where you will be living. They will tell you exactly what you need to do. I would get the ball rolling now if you know that you are moving. Don't wait!

Message to the people who were providing insults to this answer: People who receive aid can also have jobs and not everyone is proud to receive what you judgemental people call "handouts." Some people have also paid into the system and deserve a helping hand when **** happens. Good for those of you who have never had to make difficult financial decisions.

  2. Longer than it would take to get a job.

  3. Not sure.

  4. i think you just need to transfer every thing over

  5. I'm not sure how long it will take but I'm pretty sure it's quicker if you speak Spanish. Good luck with your move.

  6. Those are both federal services (usually administered by a state agency) so I don't think there is any waiting period.

  7. It depends on the state. Check the website or with the goverment office/place where you receive the food stamps etc.

  8. get a job and stop being a leach on society, you have plenty of time to sit around on yahoo answers.

  9. Not sure but i think you would just have to transfer everything tell your case worker.

  10. Tell your social worker that you are moving and give her the address of where you are going to be.She should be able to help you out.It should be something like a transfer situation.

  11. Paperwork, long wait times, s***w ups and redo? Would it be better to run for office to change the system? There are enough people in line that have to deal with the same problem. You are sure to have a vast support base of people willing to work and do for themselves without the government crunch on us all. Plan on days and days dealing with your problem. Do the best you can; it may or may not be your fault for requesting assistance, but, you have the choice to do something about it.

  12. you just have to file the forms at public aid

  13. Are you moving to acquire a job?

  14. why not look for a job first.....instead of handouts
