I got my Dslr yesterday, and it's my first dslr actually.

The manual is too thick.

I've scanned through the book and I still can't find

the page explaining how long you have to recharge the

battery.

Btw can you over recharge it?

  1. 90 minutes. Supposedly it can't overcharge, but just don't leave it in the charger more than 5 hours.

  2. You cannot over charge the Nikon battery using the charger that comes with the camera.  It has special circuitry to prevent that.  In addition, the charger will quick charge your battery to 80% and then trickle charges the battery to full charge.

Nikon recommends out recharge your battery after each shoot.  Li-ion batteries hold their charges for a long time, so unlike NiMH batteries, you don't have to worry about charging them just before you use them
