  1. Wait for an hour or so. Then start it again.

  2. I usually smoke a cigarette, then try again. So 5-10 minutes.

  3. If you flood the lawn mower take out the plug and make sure its not fowled. Check the gap when you have the plug out. Also check the breather pad air filter. If the air filter is clogged the mower won't start ever.

  4. If you remove the spark plug wire, then remove the spark plug, that will speed up the process. Also removing the air cleaner and tapping out the dust collected may prevent the motor from flooding again and help the excess gas evaporate. A dirty air cleaner was probably the cause of flooding to begin with.

While you have the spark plug out, take your grills wire brush and give the plug a brisk cleaning (provided the brush isn't caked up with gunk) and use a cigarette lighter to heat up the plug just before installing and trying to restart the motor.

<edits> If you normally prime the motor before starting, then yes just a pump or two.

  5. at least 3 hrs. if you are talking gas floooding, or water flooding-if its water, i don't know if you can get it to work again.
