How long do you keep boxes of electronics?

I've accumulated a lot of "specialty" boxes for all the electronics in my life. I've got mp3, gps, computer, cell phone, components, and wireless device boxes for all the electronics I have and I generally try and keep them. I'm about to move and I'd like to get rid of them but I worry I may need them to send in or something like that. Any thoughts?

Most of those units I'ved bought can be replaced right away in stores in 1 to 3 months should a problem occurs. Stores like Walmart will replace them if found to have a factory defects in 90 days, so I have to keep those boxes just incase. After 3 months, then they should consume space in our drawers or cabinets..then I'll have to throw them by that time..since I am not interested in claiming factory warranties of electronics $300 below. Shipping it to factory costs more than buying a new one, its impractical..Assuming the store would ship it for you, then it would take forever..But during Christmas I will usually use those small boxes when wrapping my gifts..LOL!

If the item is still under warranty I would advise you to keep it untill the warranty expires.

If it is something like a computer box I would throw it out(recycle it) because if anything does happen to your computer there is no way you would post it so just put it in your boot of your car and drive it to the shop or if it is dell call their call centre and get a man from Dell to pick it up.
