  1. you should throw your eyeshadow away in a year after opening / using...

because there might be bacterias transferred from your skin to the eyeshadow..... and that causes infection / irritation...

    hope this helps..

  2. To increase the shelf like of any of your products make you practice sanitary habits, such as wiping your eye shadow with tissue after use, cleaning your brushes REGULARLY! If you dont have any brush cleaner, baby shampoo will do fine!

I copied and pasted the following from a forum "Here's something I scanned from a magazine for more information about shelf life, and some tips as well:

    Extend a Product's Shelf Life

    DO

    - Apply it with a cotton swab, sponge or clean brush to reduce bacterial contamination

    - Close lids firmly to keep air and germs out

    - Store it in a dark, dry and cool place

    DON'T

    - Apply it with your fingers

    - Keep it open unless you're using it

    - Store it in the bathroom. Heat and humidity cause premature aging.

And that's it! Hope that helps

  3. for about 6 months...if you keep it sealed and capped it should be good for about a year. if it is like a claires or something then its not gonna last. but mac and nars and urban decay should last way long..

    i hope i helped

  4. Get rid of it after 6 months!!!!!!!!!!!! When you apply eyeshadow repeatedly, you are putting bacteria in it. After a while it grows and ist can cause breakouts, itchiness, and other skin ailments. So don't spend too much $ on eyeshadow, eyeliner, and mascara. They all have the same shelf life!

Also, when fresh, your makeup looks much better!

    Hope this helps!!

  5. As long as there is powder left in the container. I don't think eyeshadow goes bad. I still have some from the 90's and it works just fine.

  6. as long as you keep it dru and don't get the oil from your skin on it, you can keep it until the color payoff begins to diminish-

  7. it varies..

lookon the underside, or wherever the ingredients list etc are and there should be a little picture of a pot with an open lid. The number in the pic says how long it should be kept for!
