How long do you leave a self cleaning oven on?

About 2-3 hours depending on the brand of oven and how dirty it is. Then let it cool for another 1 or 2 hours before opening. After it is cleaned and cooled, there may be a light film of  ash on the over--this can be removed with a soft cloth and mild soapy water.  Good luck.

mine is set for 4 hours If it is not very dirty I turn it off after 2. but it can not be opened until it cools off.
