I know this may sound like a silly question but I'm not a big tea drinker and was wondering if there was some rule about how long to let it seep?

Normally I just wait until its a nice color and call it good....

  1. 3-5 minutes is optimum. Longer than that can make the tea taste bitter.

  2. I drink black tea and steep it for 5 minutes. Make sure the warer is boiling. For green tea, bring the water to almost boiling and steep for 3 minutes. For some medidinal teas, you need to steep for 10-15 minutes to receive the full benefits.

  3. Yeah that's good, normally about three to five min.

  4. 3 minutes

  5. 5 minutes

  6. It should say on the package.  I think it is usually between one and five minutes.

  7. about 5-10 minutes you want it to cool down and i don't think there's a rule

  8. normally, 2-3 minutes, depends on the tea. i love tea :]]

  9. It really depends on the type of tea and your personal preference. There's no real rule to it.

Green tea should be brewed in hot but not boiling water. Black tea should be in boiling water.

Then milk or honey if preferred, never sugar. Sugar numbs your taste buds and you can't enjoy the flavor of the tea.

  10. 5 minutes.

  11. Depends on the kind and how fresh it might be, but I usually wait about 8 minutes.

  12. First of all it depends What kind of tea..

    Green Tea: 15-20 minutes

    Black tea: 10-15 minutes

    Relieaving tea:5-8 minutes

    Other: from 10-24 minutes

  13. 5 minutes

Previous research found antioxidants in tea could help protect against things like cancer and heart disease.

Now scientists in Aberdeen have shown that a cuppa only gets the maximum amount of these chemicals when the tea is given proper time to brew.

The researchers also found that adding milk to a cup of tea had no effect on its cancer-fighting properties.

The scientists tested levels of polyphenols, which are antioxidants naturally occurring in plants, in the blood of volunteers who drank black tea brewed for up to 10 minutes.

They found that volunteers who drank tea that had been brewed for five minutes had blood antioxidant levels which were 60% higher than those who consumed a one-minute infusion.

  14. I also wait for a nice color, not a big tea drinker myself

  15. That sounds sensible.

Most tea makers recomend only steeping for five minutes to avoid extracting too much tannic acid from the leaves.

  16. 3-7 minutes usually
