Jayski says he's signed through 2012. Do you think he'll get an extension? If not, will he jump ship for another team (perhaps RCR) or start his own team?

  1. I think two things could happen.

    1) He could stay there until 2012 and then bring his Nationwide team to the cup series, or...

    2) He may opt to be released from his contract early so he can bring his Nationwide team to the cup series.

I think Childress and the number 3 is out of his future now since Childress's grandson has been running the #3 in other series.

  2. Got to go with everyone else on this.

I think he will stay there for the rest of his career.

  3. Thru his contract or until he gets "JRMotorsports" running like he wants too.

  4. If he is not ready to bring his team to Cup, I am sure he will re-sign with HMS if it is offered.  I don't see him jumping ship any time soon.

    *MOJO*

  5. I think he'll stay and get the extension. But theyre is also a possiiblity that he may start his own team. Following his buddy's idea (Tony Stewart)

  6. I believe unless his performance starts to diminish significantly, he'll be at HMS for his career, unless he decides to go to RCR in the later stages of his career & run the #3 as he stated he may do...

  7. RCR

  8. g

  9. for a while i guess, he is having a better run that he was having at DEI but i think that some day he will return to his team. then there is the close bond he and rick shares that may keep him long at HMS.

  10. I think Dale Jr. will finish his career with HMS and will probably sign a lifetime contract with HMS when the time comes. I don't see him driving for anyone else. On down the line I think he may move his Nationwide team to the cup level if he can land good enough sponsorship. I don't think he will be a owner/driver like Waltrip either. He is driving for a team that many drivers would give a arm or leg to be able to drive for Hendrick.

  11. I think he will stay at Hendrick Motorsports for the rest of his career.

  12. I think he will be at HMS for quite a long time unless Teresa croaks and he can get his Dad's company back...............He fits in well where he is.

  13. If he is smart he will stay where he is at for as long as he can.

  14. Right now, I'd have to think he'll stay thru his contract. He had his pick of a lot of teams to go with, I'm sure and I think he's happy with Hendricks. He has improved already. Sure he has plans for his own team someday, but the deal he has now is pretty sweet. Junior is a very smart business man.  JMHO   =o`)

  15. Yikes!!

Do we foresee HMS having a string of bad luck in the engine department? If yes, he's outta there! If not, maybe he'll stick around, and ask for 51% ownership.

    It's a joke, I swear.

  16. I don't think Jr's ever going to leave HMS, he's got it good there now. If he does bring JR Motorsports to the Cup level, it'll be the same as what Sr did, own DEI and drove for RCR(I see Kevin Harvick doing this as well.)

  17. I think he will stay for a long time, hendricks has the best cars. Junior was a good driver when he drove for earnhardt racing but not a good enough engine. we you combine a good engine and driver u get a great driver, i think next year junior will dominate.

  18. He will stay at Hendrick he found his place.  The only other way is if Theresa decides to give her step-children what is rightfully theres.

  19. Good question.  I am still really pissed about the whole situation last year and Jr. not being able to get 51% of DEI like he should have, but that is another ball of wax that I wont start on now.

I am hoping he stays a while with Hendrick.  He seems to be much happier this year with good equipment (not loosing 6+ motors like he did last year) and he seems to like his team mates too.  I think that with the addition of Mark Martin next year to Hendrick, Jr. will be happy about that and he can learn from Martin to.

In conclusion, I can see him staying a couple of years or so at Hendrick.

  20. Great question.....I think Hendrick will want/have him as long as he's making money for the team. Let's face it....the millions of $$$ of revenue DEJr brings in would keep any owner including HMS happy.

    Just an opinion as always.

  21. i think he will go back to DEI

  22. That's actually a very good question but I think he has found his home at HMS, if he felt he wanted to go to RCR, he would have already went. I hope Teresa's enjoying the number 8, she should have just gave it to him.

  23. I do not think he will ever go back to DEI.  Too much bad blood between he and Teresa Earnhardt.  He has said in the past after he wins a championship that he would like to drive for RCR in the 3 car but for right now I think he is very happy where he is and fully expects to extend his stay with HMS.  I don't look for him to go anywhere.

  24. Theres two ways that I see it.

    1. He'll be with HMS until the end of his career.(If he retires with HMS, and he moves JR Motorsports to cup, it'll end up a satellite team to HMS I'm betting.)

    2. Close to the end of his career, if it's possible, he'll go to RCR to drive the 3.

I think he'll stay with HMS forever, though.
