I joined my school's swim team and we have 2 hour practice everyday. I'm a junior and I'm not that great with technique, this is my first year swimming, however I am very commited to it. I'm about 5-10 pounds overweight. How long do you think it will take for me to notice changes in my body shape and to swim at a reasonably good speed with comparison to swimmers who have been swimming for several years?

any answers , opinions, stories of your own, or tips on technique is appreciated =)

thx

  1. swim  will be great for you

it buids amazing muscles and gets you in great shape and endurance

it will vegreat for you..eat healthy and you will be in incredible shape

im on the hs dive team-we practice with swim

  2. you will feel stronger the next day but wont see it. Just wait about a month and you will be toned. Your wieght might increase because muscle is heavier than fat so i wouldnt be checking the scale. Just hit the gym now and then and try to make a point in running a couple of times a week. Really focus on swimming. give a hundred and 10 percent. You will change your body dramaitcly. Best of luck.

  3. Depending on how hard you train. If you really try you can get fit in 1 month. If you don't try, and/or only exercise with the school team, then it could take you the rest of your life... but if you try hard and maybe do a little healthy eating and exercise then I reckon it will take you about 2-4 months.
