I am a therapist, I was taught in school, 5 minutes before and after for changing, so, it's 50min of actual massage, my friend, gives 10 min before and after, only doing 40min, I think that's too much time to allow for changing.

  1. It depends on what establishment you work for.  Looking at your documentation is best if it says "50 minute massage" then it needs to be 50 minutes.  If it says "50 minute session" then its ok to do the 5 min before/after however I give my clients a 60 minute massage and have a half hour to clean up incase you need to go over a few minutes or if they are late you can let them know to relax that their time won't be cut short due to the fact that you have time after their massage.  It gives you loyal clients when you give them time they aren't expecting.

Your not going to be able to have the half hour all the time but when your slow its a good thing just let your clients know you "just happen to have time afterwards" so they don't expect the extra time everytime

Also remember your time is valuable (as is the clients) don't let the client take advantage of your generosity

  2. I'd say I get between 45-50 minutes.  Sometimes more...but my therapist is also my good friend, so if I'm the last one sometimes they last longer.

  3. At Spa La Quinta, massages are 50 and 80 mins long.

We have a 10 turn around for both the 50 and 80 min massages.

    Good Luck Kiddo ;-D

  4. If your client is paying for a 50 minute massage, thats what they should be recieving. I'll cut my rest time 2 minutes short if I need to to get them on the table on time. Treat your guest right and they will always come back. That's been my experiance any ways.
