How long does NBC have a contract for to broadcast the olympics?

NBC's Olympic contract runs through 2012 and there is some speculation that they will be able to extend it even beyond by that time.

the 2010 0lympics will be broadcast by the canadian broadcast corporation . other canadian carriers will have access and announcers .

I respect NBC for their amazing tv series but I've been so very less than enthused by their coverage of the olympics. so sporatic, not live, whiny, online streaming was easily outdone by BBC's or CBC's, etc..

It would end at the end of this olympics and they would have to bid for the broadcast rights for the next one. That process may have already taken place and if they were the successful bidder they would get the right to broadcast the next olympics.
