How long does Standard Flat Rate Shipping Service take to get to New Jersey?

the person gave me tracking info and it is now in jersey but about 30 miles away. he shipped it from calafornia and it reached jersey at july 24. i went to the post office and he said it isnt here. is this normal???will it come tommorrow or the next day? also do post offices still send items even on sunday?

It should take 3 to 5 days and no the post office doesn't deliver on Sundays.
