How long does a baby usually stay in size 12 months before going to the next size which I think is 18 months.?

My daughter will be 1 year old in October and people are wondering what size clothes to get her for her first birthday. I would like to get her some winter clothes, but not sure what size to get. I am so confused. Please help!

depending on how big she is I would get her 18 month for winter. that way you can bundle her up more. babies usually grow out of clothes within 3 months.

Sorry - there is no magic answer here!  Clothing sizes vary by manufacturer, but you can check the height and weight recommendations for most brands on their web sites. In the winter, you can always layer, so if you get something that's 12-18m, you'll likely be able to make things work for the season (assuming her 12m clothes are a big baggy still).

baby clothes double up with their age..ex: age 6 mos , wears sz 12 mos . age 12 mos (1 yr) wears size 2..age 2 wears size 4. this works unless the baby is still very small for its age.. i would go with sz 2 for birthday gifts.

doesnt matter if the cloths are a size or 2 big just get something warm.jumpsuits are great because theyre warm and stretch

depnds what size she is. all babies grow at different rates. but if u want it to last a little longer get 2 t or 24 months. you know clothes shrink after u wash it. plus clothes is expensive. i get tons of clothes from my aunts baby to my babues. hammy downs. iso i never have to buy clothes. i saved lots of money.

Depends how big she is.  If she isn't wearing 12 month clothes yet, then it would probably be safe to get 12-18 months.  Make sure it is weather appropriate.  

I preferred winter coats that were a smaller size.  I found them less bulky on my daughter, especially with a couple other layers underneath.
