  1. well maybe 6 to 8 weeks but toughen up your shin so it doesn't happen again. try mauy thai training to make your bone stronger and drink lots of milk.........lol does the body good :-)

  2. It could take 6 weeks to as long as . . . well it could take a very long time.  It all depends on how much rest and nurturing you give it.

As for the milk, please don't.  Cow's milk is for baby cow's not humans.  Look at http://libaware.economads.com/milkletter... for more information.

For stronger bones you should look at higher concentrations of Vitamin D, Vitamin C, Vitamin K, Omega-3's (Fish Oil), Omega-6 (Primrose Oil) and good sources of protein (non-soy).  Look into some of the nutrition books for martial artists, most are pretty good.

Get a good dit-jow or similar ointment for the wound to speed it's healing also.  (Best when applied as soon as possible)

  3. up to 6 weeks to a year

  4. I've bruised my bones twice, once in a martial arts class and once when I was a kid playing at the park. The one that took the longest to heal was the park one, because I jumped from the top of the slide onto the monkey bars and missed, i bruised my arm (bone) and it took almost a whole year to heal. The other one took a couple months and happened when I acidentally kicked my sparring partner right on his cup with my barefoot. I think you will probably be okay in a couple of months. By the way, listen to Matthew when he says stay away from milk, not only is it not made for humans (duh), but it also has all kinds of chemicals, preservatives, and bacteria in it, stay away in general man. get some good supplements and eat your veggies. If you go to your local health food store they usually have a strong bones variety of supplement that has multiple vitamins for bone health.

    Happy Training

  5. A big part of that depends on how badly it is bruised, how well your body heals, and whether you stop making contact with it for a whiloe. It will take longer to heal if you keep using it. Nobody wants to lose training time, but you can always work on kicking with your other leg, which is probably your weaker one anyway, and can probably use more work. Also it will give you a chance to sharpen up your hand techniques.

hopefuuly it is just bruised and not a hairline fracture, as those take even longer to heal. remember the more you abuse it, the longer it will take to heal.

  6. Take no advise from this forum. You need to talk to a doctor.

All you can get from here is opinion. How can you tell if any of us are real doctors? You can't, always play the safe side and talk to a doctor.
