Canadian medicals go to Ottawa, and they can take about 3  months to be processed and then the results are sent back to the visa office.

Medical results are valid for 1 year only.

So if your application has not been processed within 1 year of the medical, it is quite common to be asked (required) to do another medical exam - at your own expense.

Just be prepared for that, and no you have cannot say no. If you choose to not redo the medical - then your application is closed because you "abandoned" the application process.

it shouild not take that long but they can take forever to decide and it often measn you must redo the physical which to me is stupid.
