How long does a cosmetology licence take?

So my mom was thinking about getting a cosmetology license and she was wondering how long it takes? We want to open up a high end hair salon for fun and she needs to get a license order to do that. So can anyone tell me how long it will take for her to do that? If it makes a difference it would need to be for styling hair and makeup. Thanks!

IT won't take long at all!

After that all you have to do is pass the exam which is easy!

My cousins got their license in no time at age sixteen while my Aunt was a stylist!

Look up cosmetology schools in your area, and state regulations. The number of hours required to complete it varies state to state. In Illinois, going part-time takes about 18 months and going full-time is more like 10 months. If you work at it, you should be able to complete it in under a year in most states.

You don't need a license to open up a salon..Although it would be nice if she did know things...But it takes up to a year, as it goes by hours not years...The hours depend on the state..Like Maine is 1500, But it will/may be different in your state
