You may have to change planes in Montreal or some US city?

But if you do get a direct flight?  My guess would be 8 hours.  You would actually fly over the Arctic circle due to the earth's curvature.   It would be an interesting route.  

You'd fly over Northern Ireland, Iceland, Greenland, Nunavut, part of the Yukon I think, then curve down Ontario, finally into Manitoba!

You will make a refuelling stop in Gander NFLD, and it take 2 1/2 hour from there to Ottawa or Toronto, so if it is a direct flight 6-9 hours any stopovers or re-routing due to weather, Calgary is a direct hub, were Winnipeg is not a direct  international airport.

So figure it to be a bit lnoger than the Calgary flight, I have flown from Toronto to Europe several time, it seems to be different each time, London, Paris, Frankfurt all have stopover in either Halifax or Gander for refuelling. Bring a book or something to do, which is allowed on the plane, food and drink securty issues are the same here as in the US and UK.

I've flown from Heathrow direct to Calgary (further west than Winnipeg) and that took about 8 hours. So I'm going to guess 7-8 hours.
