in WA state there is a hiring freeze, but I just got out of college and that was my way of getting a job. I was wondering, since I've never had to think about or hear about this concept before, how long does a hiring freeze last? (In other words, is this something that lasts for years?)

  1. Here In New State there is also a hiring freeze. Due in part the state is in really bad shape. Will not go off until they can get a handle on the states finances.

  2. AS LONG AS THE INSTITUTION BELIEVES IT IS VIABLE TO CONTINUE IT. IT IS POSSIBLE THAT IT MAY NEVER BE LIFTED. STATE BUDGETS ARE TIGHT AND HIRING IS DISCRETIONARY.

  3. Wow. I've heard of individual companies having a hiring freeze. I never heard of such a thing occurring for an entire state. Very interesting question! I cant imagine that such a thing would last over a year.
