How long does a iphone 3g restore take?

It's about 30 minutes, and I see the Apple Logo and loading animation? I called AT&T and they told me to do this, but this being my only phone in my apartment, I can't call them back.

  1. 30 minutes is too long. It should take like 10 minutes.
