How long does a person get a citizenship in USA?

It is because I know many people who went long time ago without getting the citizenship. At least you make some changes or procedures how someone can easily settle in USA.

It can depend on circumstances.  A coworker (who married a US citizen) spent 6 years, I think.  She recently took the test about a year ago.  Backlogs can affect the time (there's a backlog most of the time) and the tests (passing or failing) can also affect the time spent.
