I am thinking of buying one, but I'm not sure how long they live, I was told that they look like a stink weed while young, but how long will it be before it turns into a full grown paulownia tree, if anybody has one, or has any info on one please let me know.

Thanks.

  1. Paulownia trees can grow 10 - 15 feet in just their first year. At that rate, you would have a 20 foot tree in 2 years. They can live for 80 or more years, but are traditionally used for lumber and are cut down every 8 - 12 years since they grow back so quickly if harvested correctly.

You should be aware that they are considered invasive in quite a few of the US states and it would be a good idea to check with your Cooperative Extension on its status in your area before planting.
