I'm going on 5 days w/ a very soar throat. It started w/ fever, body aches, and extreme headaches. Those all seemed to have subsided but the very painful throat is remains. I have been tested for strep but came up negative. This is the first time I've had this bad of a soar throat that was not accompanied by a runny nose or cough (common cold). It seems everything I eat is very painful, whether it be soup or pizza. Any ideas?

  1. Eat fresh pineapple, drink lots of OJ.  Jell-o on buttered toast should slide down easier and gargle with salty water or Listerine (works miracles for sore throat if you can handle it) several times a day.

You should notice a difference in a few days.

Stay FAR away from Halls throat lozenges.  They make it 100X worse.
