Until the end of his contract (unless he is stop lossed..then until the end of that period).  E6 is high enough that people can go a full 20 at the rank, so there is also the option of doing so and then retiring.  If you are asking how long he has to serve to get retirement benefits...generally the full 20 years, although depending on how long he has served he may get some transistional benefits if it was over th 10 year mark,

  3. it depends on what his contract is. he gets out when his contract is up.  he'll know when that is because it's all over their paperwork

  4. Until the end of his contract, unless he's called to duty using the statutory obligation that extends until 8 years (I believe) from the date of first enlistment.

    Just like all enlisted service members, regardless of rank.
